I am a bi-coastal commercial and film director passionate about creating emotionally resonant and visually powerful experiences that make a lasting impact.

In my films, I explore morally complex characters forced to make impossible decisions with life-or-death stakes, raising questions about family, duty, love, and sacrifice. In the commercial space, I combine theatrical storytelling techniques with commercial efficiency, helping brands cut through the noise with authentic moments that stick. By bringing high-end narrative techniques to the commercial space while maintaining a problem-solving mindset, I help clients achieve premium production value and emotional impact without requiring over-inflated, unsustainable budgets.

My professional journey began at New York University, where my thesis narrative, BANDITO, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2015, winning the Wasserman Award for Best Directing. I returned to Tribeca the following year with ONE GOOD PITCH, which I co-wrote and produced, and also produced HOMING IN, which was showcased at the British Film Institute.

My first feature script, WITH THESE EYES, won a 2016 Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Writing Award and earned me participation in the 2017 Sloan Film Summit in Los Angeles. My short film, WHERE THERE'S SMOKE, marked my third consecutive Tribeca appearance in 2017 as a writer/producer and second as director. The film went on to win the Grand Jury Award for Best Short Film (Live Action) at the Edmonton International Film Festival, qualifying for the 2019 Academy Awards. My latest feature, BARRON'S COVE, was a semi-finalist for the Academy's Nicholl Fellowships for Screenwriting and appeared on the 2021 Black List. The film features Garrett Hedlund, Brittany Snow, Stephen Lang, and Hamish Linklater, and is produced by Mandalay Pictures (AIR). It premiered at the 32nd Hamptons International Film Festival in October of 2024. The film was acquired by WellGo USA, an Oscar®-nominated theatrical and home entertainment distribution label, for a theatrical release in June of 2025.

As a freelance director, I've created content for leading brands including NY State, Discover, Barkbox, Flexon, Verizon, Foot Locker, Converse, Uber, Chevrolet, and Gillette. I've directed notable personalities such as Antoni Porowski for Hello Fresh, PGA golfer Justin Rose for Bonobos, and billionaire entrepreneur Tillmin Fertitta for Golden Nugget Casino. My competition-winning commercial "The Push" for Foot Locker aired nationwide alongside the New York City Marathon, and my campaign for Biotene won a 2020 Gold Telly Award. In 2022, I was honored as part of the 20th Annual SHOOT New Director's Showcase.

In 2023, I co-founded ScriptGen, a cutting-edge AI platform that streamlines the film and TV production process, now serving major clients across the entertainment industry. ScriptGen has rapidly gained traction, onboarding the Buchwald agency as an enterprise client and being used by agents at WME, Gersh, CAA, and UTA, along with producers at Paramount, Amblin, and other leading companies. The platform's tools are also being embraced by Sundance directors and established TV writers, assisting with everything from script development to final production planning.

I’m also proud to have contributed to bringing several Broadway productions to life, including the 2022 revival of David Mamet’s American Buffalo at Broadway's Circle in the Square Theatre. Starring Emmy and Tony winner Laurence Fishburne, Oscar and Golden Globe winner Sam Rockwell, and Emmy and Golden Globe winner Darren Criss. In 2025, I’m partnering with GFour Productions to bring another David Mamet play to BroadwayGlengarry Glenn Ross, starring Emmy, SAG, Golden Globe & Critics Choice Award-Winner Kieran Culkin, Emmy, SAG & Critics Choice Award-Winner & Golden Globe Nominee Bob Odenkirk, and Emmy & Grammy® Award-Nominee Bill Burr.
